The Serengeti

Serengeti is one of the most famous parks in Africa. The name “Serengeti” is derived from the word “Serengeti”, which when translated from the Masai language, refers to “Endless Plains”, and true to the description, these plains span an astounding 12,000 square miles in approximation. The landscape here is the Africa you’ve always imagined and seen depicted in the Lion King and Out of Africa. It is famous for its annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded wildebeest and other animals like zebras. This is rendered to as one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Because of its popularity, the Serengeti draws in massive numbers of tourists every year.

Ngorongoro Crater

The Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzania is the largest unfilled inactive volcanic crater, or caldera, in the world. However, it’s not entirely empty as a wildlife spectacle unfolds in this dramatic setting. At the base of 610m cliff faces elephants trumpet, lions roar, and antelope…eat grass. The crater is arguably the best place in Tanzania to see the big five in one day. It features one of the highest concentrations of animals in Africa. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most mesmerizing natural features in the world. If your goal is to see as many animals with as little time possible then the Crater is the perfect spot.

As Thousands upon thousands of hooves stampeding across the streams and grasslands of the Serengeti in search of grazing grounds, imagine yourself live and on the scene as one of nature’s greatest spectacle unfolds right before your eyes. This unforgettable 4 day Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari will give you a glimpse of what happens during the great annual animal run, bringing you to the majestic Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park, and beyond to track the “big five.” You’ll also get an insider’s glimpse of life on the plains from the residents of a remote Maasai village.

It is popular for the annual migration of over 1.5 million white-bearded wildebeests, over 200,000 zebras, etc. Serengeti is a wild part of the world, an ethereal landscape that has to be seen to be believed!

Day 3
Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Enjoy early breakfast and meet your guide to have a last morning game drive in Serengeti National Park, later depart to Ngorongoro Conservation area with en-route game drive and picnic lunch. Ngorongoro is a special conservation area and not a National Park. The whole area is managed for both animals and local Maasai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After breakfast, descend into the crater, enjoy 5 hours game drive in the crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino.

Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopard. We will enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor.
Late afternoon drive back to Arusha and drop off at your hotel.
