This 13 Day Safari begins with a visit to Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its flocks of pink flamingos and diverse birdlife. As you explore the park, you’ll also have the chance to encounter buffalo, giraffe, rhino, and even lions and leopards.

Next up is the Masai Mara, one of the world’s most renowned wildlife reserves. Here, you’ll witness the great wildebeest migration, a natural phenomenon unlike any other, as thousands of animals cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing pastures. You’ll also have the opportunity to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more, all against the stunning backdrop of the Mara’s sweeping savannahs.

Moving on, you’ll cross the border into Tanzania and venture into the legendary Serengeti, home to some of the largest herds of wildebeest and zebras on earth. This vast, pristine wilderness is also a haven for predators such as lions, hyenas, and leopards, which you’ll have the chance to observe up close on game drives and guided walks.

From the Serengeti, you’ll continue on to Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s most breathtaking natural wonders. This vast caldera is home to an incredible concentration of wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, and the elusive leopard. You’ll also have a chance to interact with the local Maasai people, learning about their time-honored traditions and way of life.

Finally, your journey concludes with a visit to Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya, a region famous for its stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Here, you’ll witness large herds of elephants, as well as giraffes, lions, and other wildlife against the backdrop of the majestic mountain.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Transfer to Lake Nakuru – Evening Game Drives in Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning after your breakfast, our guide will pick you up at 7:00am from your hotel in Nairobi to transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park. We drive through the suburbs of Nairobi with an enroute stopover at the Great Rift Valley view point for photography shortly after which we will continue our journey to Nakuru. The drive further takes us through parallel scenic views of the Great Rift Valley to arrive to our booked accommodation in time for lunch and relaxation upon checking in.

This afternoon we explore Lake Nakuru National Park on game drives until evening. Lake Nakuru National Park encompasses the alkaline lake that is frequently visited by hundreds of thousands of greater and lesser flamingos, providing an amazing bird spectacle. More than 400 bird species in all have been recorded. Nakuru has also been declared a black rhino sanctuary and offers guaranteed sighting of the black and white rhinos. Other wildlife includes lion, leopard, Rothschild’s giraffe (introduced), waterbuck, reedbuck, hippo, baboon, pelican, and cormorant. After an evening of game drives, we will retire at our Lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Day 2: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve – Evening Game Drives in Masai Mara National Reserve

Drive Early morning after your breakfast, we say goodbye to Lake Nakuru to embark on a drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. Enjoy yet another scenic drive through the scenic views of the Great Rift Valley before arriving to our booked accommodation to check in just in time for lunch and relaxation at camp. We later head out for our game drive in the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is Kenya’s most celebrated wildlife reserve, and arguably its best.

The park is dominated by open grassland, interspersed with rocky hills, acacia woodland, and riparian forest. Mara Mara is rewarding not just for predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah but for spotted hyena, bat-eared fox, and blackbacked jackal as well. Elephant and buffalo are common, and a number of black rhinos still survive. Other ungulates include impala, eland, and reedbuck. A checklist of 450-plus birds includes raptors and ground birds such as ostrich and ground hornbill. At sun dawn we take advantage of the photographic moment then return to accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3 -4 : Full Day Masai Mara wildlife Activities (Game Drives)

Today we spend these two days game viewing in Kenya’s leading Masai Mara National Reserve. We will embark on two game drives; in the morning game drive and the evening, game drive with an option to carry picnic breakfast to spend the entire morning out in the wild or return to accommodation for breakfast and lunch shortly after which we head back to search for the big five and other wildlife species to include: Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, Wildebeest, buffaloes, zebras, jackals, spotted hyenas, topi, impala, Hartebeests, nat eared foxes, the crocodiles and hippopotamus of the Mara and Talek Rivers. We will have a full day to track the resident wildlife in Masai Mara National Reserve. After the thrilling day of magnificent game viewing in Masai Mara National Reserve, we retire at our accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Masai Mara to Northern or Western Serengeti via Kenya – Tanzania land border crossing at Isebania

On this day, we bid farewell to the Maasai Mara and Kenya after an early breakfast, we take on an enroute game drive out of the Masai Mara to embark on a drive to Isebania, Kenya – Tanzania Land border crossing Point. Please note that there will be a switch of vehicle and guide at the border but this is seamless and should note distress you. After the immigration formalities are done with our guide taking care of all the necessary documentation, You will meet your new Tanzanian guide/driver and continue to Northern or Western  Serengeti for game viewing all evening with a chance to encounter the Great Migration that camps within this region at different times of the year. We later retire at our booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Half-Day Northern Serengeti or Western Serengeti Migration Tracking – Afternoon Game Drives to Central Serengeti

Today we enjoy a full-day game drives in The Serengeti. We spend the first half of the day exploring Northern or Western Serengeti focusing on tracking the wildebeest migration. We later take on further game drives from Northern or Western Serengeti all through to Central Serengeti Seronera Area. Home to highest populations of wilidlife in booked acccommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Full-Day Game Drives in Central & Eastern Serengeti

We Spend this full day exploring the vast plains of the Central Serengeti and Eastern Serengeti with a picnic lunch in the wilderness of the Serengeti, giving us a great opportunity to explore all through the kopjes and riverine areas. Here we will hopefully see the Big Five of Africa (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo), as well as a dazzling assortment of other wildlife. After collecting full day memories in Serengeti National Park, we return to our accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 8: Half-Day Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Visit Oldupai Gorge Museum

The day starts with breakfast at the safari camp, as the sun rise, we head out for half day game drives in Central and Southern Serengeti. We later bid farewell to The Serengeti exiting the park via Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival in Ngorongoro CA, we continue our drive northwards to Oldupai Gorge – an archeological trove of inestimable importance for understanding the origins of humankind. Making our way into the museum we shall have a chance to learn more about the fossilized remains of animals and over fifty hominids dating back almost two million years. After this adventure we retire at our booked accommodation situated at the rim of Ngorongoro Crater

Day 9: Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for full day Game Drives

This day, we descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for full day game viewing, taking in stunning views of the world’s largest unflooded caldera on the way down. The crater is home to the Big Five and almost every kind of big mammal found in Africa. After a rewarding full day of game drives in this World Heritage Site, we drive out of the crater to transfer to booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 10: Ngorongoro to Tarangire National Park – Explore Tarangire National Park on Full Day Game Drives

This morning we transfer to Tarangire National Park. Known for large elephant herds and the Tarangire river which flows all year round, Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s major National Parks. On arrival at the Park, We embark on game drives with a picnic lunch in the African bush. Tarangire hosts an array of wild animals, including lions and buffalos, as well as various antelopes, wildebeest, giraffes, and zebras. The national park covers some 2600km2 of wilderness, characterized by undulating plains dotted with baobab and acacia trees. After a full day of game viewing in Tarangire National Park, we retire at our booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Tarangire to Amboseli National Park via Tanzania – Kenya land border Crossing at Namanga

Early morning after your breakfast, we set off for a drive that takes us through Arusha City to transfer to Amboseli National Park via Tanzania – Kenya land border Crossing at Namanga. Please note that there will be another switch of vehicle and guide to meet a familiar face and vehicle of our Kenyan safari guide that we spent the first 5 days of safari with. After the immigration formalities are done, with our guide taking care of all the necessary documentation, we shall continue our short drive to Amboseli. Upon arrival to the park, we enjoy an evening game drive to later retire at our booked accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 12: Full Day Amboseli National Park Game Drives

Today we enjoy a full day game viewing experience in Amboseli National Park. Amboseli covers lush grasslands fed by the melting snow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Standing at 5896m above sea level the snow-topped mountain forms the backdrop to game viewing. The Park also hosts some of Kenya’s largest elephant herds and is famous for its big elephant bulls with their impressive tusks. The Game Park also contains huge populations of buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, hippos and various antelope species, such as impala. Amboseli Park is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, jackals, warthogs and various other wildlife and bird species

Day 13: Morning Amboseli Game Drives – Transfer from Amboseli to Nairobi

This morning we enjoy breakfast and yet another morning game drive to later check out our accommodation. We have lunch at noon then trace our route back to Nairobi. Upon arrival to Nairobi, you will be dropped off at your Place of hotel in Nairobi or the airport for your departure flight. This will mark the end of our 13 Day Magical Safari.
